All children have a right to their mother tongue. Mother tongue is the language basis that every child learns, by listening and being together with their parents and family. AAC in the mother tongue leads to language development in the mother tongue. At the same time language development in the mother tongue encourages the development in the other language, which often occurs in the child’s life.
